Trump Announces New Members of White House Tech Council
President Trump has appointed 13 industry and tech leaders to a council that will help set AI policy (Reuters, subscription).
Who’s included: The new members of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology include Meta Platforms CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Oracle Executive Chairman Larry Ellison and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang.
- The council may include up to 24 members, according to the White House.
A manufacturing voice: Also appointed was Oklo Co-Founder and CEO Jacob DeWitte, leader of one of the most promising nuclear companies in the U.S. today.
- Oklo recently secured key federal approvals, which will enable it to proceed with developing advanced reactors.
AI action: The current Trump administration has made America’s AI dominance a priority, releasing an AI Action Plan last year that was influenced by the NAM’s own suite of policy recommendations.
NAM guidance: The NAM continues to represent manufacturers’ priorities on AI to the administration, most recently supporting its new framework for a single national AI policy, a long-term NAM recommendation.
