NAM Calls for Permanent Tax Cuts
As the House and Senate advance legislation, the NAM continues to tell the story of manufacturers at the national and local levels:
- NAM President and CEO Jay Timmons joined CNBC to welcome White House and House leadership on advancing a budget resolution but stressed the importance of ensuring the 2017 tax reforms are made permanent.
- During the NAM’s State of Manufacturing Address, Timmons focused on the need for Congress to take action on tax reform this year. “As tax reform discussions continue—and they need to move fast—Congress must focus on making the U.S. the best place to manufacture,” he said. As POLITICO reported, “Timmons feels the need for speed.”
- Senate Finance Committee Chairman Mike Crapo cited the NAM’s tax study on the Senate floor.
- NAM President and CEO Jay Timmons thanked Senate Majority Leader John Thune for urging Congress to make the 2017 tax reforms permanent.
