Manufacturers Salute Josh Bolten on Storied Career; Welcome Kristen Silverberg as New CEO

Washington, D.C. – National Association of Manufacturers President and CEO Jay Timmons released the following statement on the retirement of Business Roundtable CEO Josh Bolten:
“Josh Bolten is the best of the best: a policy expert, a savvy operator and a winning advocate who never sets aside his moral compass. His success as a leader is rooted in his humility, thoughtfulness, pragmatism and patriotism—and especially in his knowledge that effectiveness is not measured in decibels.
“For many years, I have had the privilege of calling Josh a friend and a colleague, first while we worked in government and then as we represented the business community together. Professionally, he’s been a sounding board, a thinking partner and a confidant. Personally, he’s shown my family great kindness and support when we’ve faced challenges and trials.
“During Josh’s tenure, the NAM and BRT have taken on some of the toughest issues of the past decade. Our partnership not only helped secure consequential policy wins, but also ensured that American businesses met the moment in times of crisis.
“The business community is losing one of its most persuasive voices, and Josh is a type of leader not easily replicated. All of us would do well now and again to remember and learn from Josh’s example.
“At the NAM, we work every day to advance four principles, four ‘pillars,’ that keep manufacturing strong and that have made America exceptional: free enterprise, competitiveness, individual liberty and equal opportunity. They are also the values tirelessly championed by an exceptional leader: Josh Bolten.
“Manufacturers congratulate Josh on his successful and storied career and thank him for his tireless work for America’s success. We wish Josh, his incredible spouse Ann and their sons Gage and Eli all the best on their next exciting chapter.
“In Kristen Silverberg, the BRT has named a proven leader and effective advocate. Together, Kristen and Josh worked hard to forge a strong partnership with the association community, including the NAM. As she takes the helm, manufacturers look forward to continuing our work together to advance the shared priorities of our two organizations.”
