John Deere Helps Customers Diagnose, Repair and Protect Equipment

John Deere, the 189-year-old manufacturer of agricultural, construction, forestry and other heavy equipment, has made a promise to customers: it will enable them to diagnose and repair their equipment swiftly, effectively and from pretty much anywhere. The company offers many safe, transparent options for clients, so they can keep their machines running at maximum efficiency.
The tools and services: Deere’s offerings to customers reflect the advantages of today’s connected age.
- For example, agricultural customers can subscribe to John Deere Operations Center™ PRO Service, which allows them to reprogram software, make calibrations and run advanced diagnostics, among other advanced repair options. This new service, established only a year ago, already boasts thousands of users.
- Meanwhile, many resources are already available free of charge, including John Deere’s Service Overview and the Equipment Mobile app. Through these tools, farmers can find manuals, maintenance advice, diagnostic trouble codes and much more.
- John Deere also offers Connected Support for all its equipment, from excavators to OEM engines, allowing customers to monitor equipment remotely and to connect to their dealerships, which can monitor alerts and even provide real-time diagnostics.
The AI angle: John Deere is also incorporating AI into its service for customers. PRO Service now includes AI manual search, helping customers find the right answers faster.
- The company has become a leader in AI applications, recently unveiling JD, its AI assistant for farmers. Accessible through the company’s Operations Center, this tool lets farmers draw on their data much more easily, by answering questions about crop yields, optimal harvest times, fuel usage and many more critical topics.
Why it matters: Manufacturers prioritize their customers’ ability to use and repair their own equipment as they see fit, and help them to do so safely, efficiently and in full compliance with regulations.
- John Deere’s commitment to its customers shows why sensible repair access policy is the right decision for lawmakers, as the NAM has long argued.
