USMCA Review to Begin Next Week
U.S., Canadian and Mexican officials are due to meet on July 1 for the first formal joint review of the U.S.–Mexico–Canada Agreement since it took effect six years ago (Reuters).
NAM in action: Ahead of the USMCA’s pivotal six-year review, the NAM released a new report in May, spotlighting manufacturers’ stories and new data that underscore just how deeply integrated North American manufacturing has become—and how targeted improvements to the landmark agreement can unlock even more jobs, growth and innovation across the sector.
- The NAM delivered this message directly to policymakers at the North American Manufacturing Conference in Washington, D.C., on May 14, hosted by the NAM in partnership with the Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters and the Confederation of Industrial Chambers of Mexico. They brought together nearly 250 industry leaders with policymakers from all three countries to highlight the importance of USMCA to manufacturers.
- The association told the Office of the United States Trade Representative in November that this review is “an opportunity to ensure the USMCA remains the highest standard in the world and that its benefits are utilized fully by the manufacturers that depend on—and thrive under—the USMCA.”
Stay tuned: The NAM will continue to provide updates as the USMCA review advances.
