Tax Wins Across America Takes Capitol Hill at NAM-Hosted Event

Over the past year, the NAM and manufacturers across the country have hosted members of Congress, White House Cabinet officials, state and local officials and community leaders at their facilities to show how H.R. 1 has given them the confidence to invest in their people, purchase new equipment and plan confidently for the long term.

• On the heels of the landmark tax law’s one-year anniversary, dozens of manufacturers took to Capitol Hill on Tuesday to meet with congressional offices, share their success stories and discuss other manufacturing priorities, coinciding with the NAM’s new 50-state collection of manufacturer stories, “Manufacturing Tax Wins Across America.”
• The day culminated in a Tax Wins Across America Fair and Capitol Hill Reception, hosted by the NAM, where members of Congress and their staff, Cabinet officials, media and other stakeholders were able to visit tables branded with different provisions of the bill, to talk with them about the importance of the permanent tax provisions in the law and share their success stories.

Star-studded event: NAM President and CEO Jay Timmons and Winton Machine Company CEO (and NAM board member) Lisa Winton spoke at the event, alongside several legislators: House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith (R-MO), Senate Finance Committee Chairman Mike Crapo (R-ID), House Republican Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClain (R-MI) and Small Business Administration Deputy Administrator Bill Briggs.

Timmons says: “Chairman Smith, Chairman Crapo, Chairwoman McClain, Administrator Briggs—thank you. Thank you for prioritizing manufacturing workers and manufacturing communities,” said Timmons.

• “Thank you for giving us the opportunity to continue to keep our promises and invest in the future of American growth, prosperity and security.”
• “You have invested in manufacturing. And an investment in manufacturing pays off every time.”

Congress says: “No one deserves more credit for H.R. 1 than the NAM,” said Chairman Crapo in his remarks.

• “I love this book. It’s the personal stories that matter. It’s the personal stories that will allow these tax provisions that we made permanent to stay permanent,” said Chairman Smith.
• “What we need to do is bring the policies of this legislation to life and that is exactly what you did with this book,” said Chairwoman McClain. 

Winton says: “Thanks to the power of H.R. 1, Winton Machine is on track for its best year ever in 2026,” said Winton.

• “I can think of no better way to honor America’s 250th anniversary. H.R. 1 has invested in the manufacturers that make our country strong.”
• “And I have a feeling that if we succeed to protect H.R. 1 and drive even more policy wins into law, Winton—and companies just like us—will have much more to celebrate for years to come.”

NAM in the news: The event drew strong media interest, with numerous reporters in attendance and prominent coverage across POLITICO Playbook, POLITICO Influence and POLITICO Morning Tax (all subscription), which spotlighted the event and highlighted the lawmakers who joined.

An impressive display: A large screen at the reception displayed the NAM’s interactive map, showing the jobs protected and wages saved in each state thanks to tax reform, as well as manufacturers’ stories.
