Streeter Touts H.R. 1 Manufacturing Wins on Air

NAM Executive Vice President Erin Streeter took to the airwaves to spotlight “Manufacturing Tax Wins Across America,” the NAM’s new collection of 50 manufacturer success stories from 50 states, showing how H.R. 1 is fueling investment, growth and opportunity for manufacturers.

What’s going on: “What we were trying to do here is really show how foundational tax is to the success of a manufacturer,” Streeter told One America News Network in a segment last week about the NAM’s newly released flipbook, which marked the one-year anniversary of the 2025 tax law.

• In the segment, OAN Chief White House Correspondent Daniel Baldwin cited NAM estimates widely shared before the legislation’s passage: “In totality, NAM estimates that the H.R. 1 tax cuts protected nearly 6 million jobs, saved more than $1 trillion in gross domestic product and about $540 billion in wages.”
• NAM President and CEO Jay Timmons has called H.R. 1 “one of the most consequential pieces of legislation in a generation.”

Why it’s important: The stories in the flipbook show that the legislation “is giving manufacturers the certainty that they can invest and they can grow,” Streeter told OAN.

• With this law, “they’ve got that foundational piece in place, that policy piece in place, and it gives them the certainty that they need to be able to move forward.”

White House spotlight: Baldwin noted that White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt highlighted the report last week. The segment then cut to a clip from the White House press briefing, where Leavitt cited stories from the NAM’s flipbook, before returning to Streeter’s interview.

• “Pivot Manufacturing in Arizona made the largest equipment purchase in company history after the Trump tax cuts gave them the long-term certainty to invest with confidence,” Leavitt said in the clip, citing the NAM publication.
• “Winton Machine Company in Georgia is on pace for the best year in its history. Ketchie Inc. in North Carolina was able to purchase new machinery and expand its workforce by 25%. And Jergens in Ohio expanded its brand-new facility to increase production, and they’re also paying their workers even more thanks to the no tax on overtime provision.”

“A ripple effect”: Streeter also talked about Ketchie Inc., whose president and owner, Courtney Silver, is an NAM Executive Committee member. For Ketchie, H.R. 1 was transformational.

• “[B]ecause of the immediate expensing … provision in the bill, [Silver] was able to purchase [an important] piece of equipment,” Streeter continued. “She now has that piece of equipment, thanks to H.R. 1 … [A]s a result, she was able to hire more people in her facility. And actually one of the people operating that piece of equipment was able to buy his first home because of this tax bill. So it is a ripple effect.”
• The full expensing provision, Baldwin said, “is featured in more than 20 state testimonies” in the NAM’s new flipbook.

The engine of a global superpower: “Growth is what makes our economy work,” Streeter concluded.

• “Manufacturers are at the center of our economy because they make things that pretty much go into everything that we use in our daily lives. And so having the ability to continue to innovate and to create and to build, that’s the growth that we need to compete in this very competitive world that we are in today.”
