Jamison Door, BMP Break Ground on Big New Facility

Jamison Door and BMP broke ground last month on a 355,000-square-foot facility in Hagerstown, Maryland, with the NAM on hand to celebrate this investment in American manufacturing.
The facility: The production center, which will cost $35 million to $50 million, will serve customers across North America and feature advanced manufacturing technologies, automation and R&D and product testing capabilities.
The partnership: The new facility will strengthen the partnership between Jamison Door and BMP, which is headquartered in Italy and chose to invest again in this U.S. region for its manufacturing infrastructure and other resources.
- “Jamison’s current plant holds 120 years of American manufacturing history,” said Danilo Benotto, CEO and chairman of BMP Group. “This new facility represents the next generation of that history—a state-of-the-art home that will inherit everything Jamison has learned over more than a century and combine it with the technology, capabilities and collective knowledge of BMP.”
The groundbreaking: Many state and local officials and industry leaders turned out for the groundbreaking ceremony, including NAM Managing Vice President of Government Relations Stef Webb, who spoke at the event.
- “This new advanced manufacturing facility will bring product lines together in a one-stop shop, expand production capabilities and support up to 250 employees,” said Webb. “It is a powerful example of what manufacturers can do when they have the certainty to plan, invest, hire and grow.”
What’s next: The first phase of construction is slated for completion in the first quarter of 2028, and manufacturing operations will begin soon after.
