Bryan Behr

Director, Project and Process Development at Surf Loch

Bryan Behr is an executive level professional with over twenty years of management and business development experience in the environmental science / engineering, and real estate development industries. He specializes in real estate development, entitlements, site characterization / assessment, and environmental remediation engineering, with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science (Cal Poly, 2002), and Masters in Business Administration (USF, 2011).

In 2017, Bryan joined a team of ten science, engineering, and construction professionals to design and develop the first commercial Kelly Slater Wave Company (KSWC) wave system and professional surfing facility in California, and planning and design for future KSWC surfing facility projects globally. Bryan was responsible for managing a broad range of tasks and operations including pre-development due diligence, entitlements, facilities planning, design, construction, and operations. In parallel with the above responsibilities, Bryan managed programs including design, engineering, construction, implementation, and operations.

The first Surf Ranch facility was successfully designed, developed, and commissioned in ten months’ time, and the first internationally live televised World Surf League (WSL) professional surfing competition in a wave system was successfully held at the facility in 2018. Following the success of commercial operations at the Surf Ranch facility in California, the KSWC team optimized, and value engineered the wave technology and system, and completed development of a fully commercialized KSWC system for deployment across multiple projects in the United States, Japan, Brazil, and Australia.

In 2020, Bryan joined the Surf Loch team as Director of Project and Process Development where he currently manages business operations and leads real estate development and technology integration / execution projects globally.
