NAM Tax Study Makes a Splash
The NAM’s new tax study, which quantifies the devastating effects of the expiration of pro-manufacturing tax provisions, made a big impact in Washington, D.C., this week.
On Capitol Hill: Along with the Tuesday press conference announcing the study and attended by much of the GOP’s congressional leadership, the study has had a warm reception among legislators.
- Rep. Mike Carey (R-OH) issued a press release citing the NAM’s study.
- The House Ways and Means Committee highlighted the tax study in a media advisory and Chairman Jason Smith (R-MO) highlighted the study in his remarks before a hearing on protecting key tax provisions in the TCJA.
- House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), who attended the Tuesday event, promoted the study on social media, and Sen. Mike Crapo (R-ID), another attendee, highlighted the event. Rep. Beth Van Duyne (R-TX) added her voice as well.
In the news: The study was covered by Fox Business Network’s “The Big Money Show” and “ Fox & Friends First” and by RFD-TV’s “Market Day Report.”
