Manufacturers: House Bill Would Be a to Boost Nuclear Energy 

A recently introduced bill would help clear the way for the streamlined licensing of new nuclear fuel recycling facilities, the NAM said this week.

• The bill was reported favorably to the full House Energy and Commerce Committee on Tuesday.

What’s going on: The Nuclear Recycling Efficient Fuels Utilizing Expedited Licensing (REFUEL) Act would amend the Atomic Energy Act to exclude advanced fuel recycling technologies from the definition of a production facility, as long as the process does not separate plutonium from other transuranium elements.
