Manufacturers: Eric Cantor Brings Proven Leadership to PhRMA
Washington, D.C. – National Association of Manufacturers President and CEO Jay Timmons released the following statement congratulating Eric Cantor on being named the next president and CEO of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America:
“Eric is a longtime friend, a proven leader and one of the most effective advocates I have had the privilege of working alongside throughout my career.
“Our partnership in public service dates back to the George Allen administration, when I was in the governor’s office and Eric was a member of the Virginia House of Delegates and continued through my early years at the NAM and his time in Congress. Over the decades, we worked together on major economic priorities, from advancing trade agreements with South Korea, Colombia and Panama, to supporting the Export-Import Bank and navigating major tax and fiscal debates. Eric consistently brought the political skill, policy depth and an ability to work across partisan divides to deliver results that strengthened manufacturers’ competitiveness and America’s economic leadership.
