The NAM Says No to Drug Pricing Controls
Manufacturers are hitting back in anticipation of a reconciliation bill that threatens manufacturing innovation and competitiveness.
What’s happening: The NAM has launched a six-figure broadcast and cable TV advertising campaign calling on senators to oppose drug pricing controls, which would erode the “development of lifesaving medicines and the livelihoods of manufacturing workers across America who deliver them.”
Why it’s important: “Government price-setting schemes that undermine our ongoing work to develop lifesaving cures to diseases like cancer and Alzheimer’s and respond to health crises are never the answer,” Timmons said.
- “We are calling on senators to vote ‘no’ on reconciliation and stand with manufacturers and the hardworking Americans who are integral to battling this pandemic and discovering future cures.”
