Manufacturers Urge Clean Bill to End Separation of Migrant Children
Washington, D.C. – National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) President and CEO Jay Timmons released the following statement after today’s failed immigration vote in the U.S. House of Representatives:
Children must never be used as bargaining chips. House and Senate leaders have the power to put forward a clean bill to forever end the horrific practice of separating migrant children from their families—and they should do so now.
Once we are sure this tragedy will never be replayed in America, Congress should turn to meaningful, bipartisan comprehensive immigration reform.
