Alyssa Shooshan

Chief Membership Officer

Alyssa Shooshan is chief membership officer at the National Association of Manufacturers. Alyssa leads the membership team working directly with the NAM’s diverse member companies, from iconic Fortune 1000 brands to smaller, family-owned enterprises. She also leads the NAM Board Initiatives team, supporting the engagement of the manufacturing executives who serve on the NAM Board of Directors and Executive Committee.

Prior to being named chief membership officer, Alyssa was chief of staff, working with the president and CEO as well as senior staff in coordinating the operations and policies of the association as well as overseeing the NAM Board of Directors. Earlier in her time at the NAM she worked as assistant vice president, member and board relations, leading the team responsible for member retention and bolstering member engagement at the NAM. In addition, she coordinated the NAM’s Executive Insights Series across the United States. Alyssa started at the NAM in 2010 as a membership director and senior director headquartered in New England. In this role, she collaborated with executives on targeted legislative priorities and engagement with the NAM, including outside-the-Beltway leadership activities.

Alyssa came to the NAM with more than 17 years of experience in the federal government. She began her career as a legislative assistant specializing in education and communications issues in the Washington, D.C., office of Sen. Judd Gregg (R-NH) and later managed the senator’s legislative staff and coordinated policy as his legislative director. She ended her government service serving as Sen. Gregg’s chief of staff and was responsible for managing the Washington, D.C., and New Hampshire offices and coordinating the senator’s policy and messaging. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of New Hampshire and is a native of the state.
